I especially like this quote
because it really is true in some schools. Teachers can get so wrapped up in
where the students need to be at the end of the year and how they perform on
standardized testing that we forget who they are at that moment. I believe, we
as teachers need to stop and just let kids be kids some days and just hear what
they have to say. It is so nice to listen to what my students have to say. They
all have a personality of their own and can be looked over when everything is
so serious.
I also like:

I like this quote because first
Walt Disney is an amazing person who touched the lives of so many. But secondly
because this statement is true in everyones life. We teach our students what
they need to know as they grow up. In addition to just curriculum, we teach
them to never give up and that all their dreams and goals can come true if they
work hard towards them. This is exactly what Walt Disney is saying. Our dreams
can only come true if we have the courage to go for them.
I love your Stacia Tauscher quote! It is very true, that we as adults or educators get so wrapped up in students futures or at least passing our classes, that we forget what's going on with them today or right now. I make sure to come into my class each morning with a clean slate, each student has a clean slate; today is a new day. I do not judge them from their actions in other classes or from yesterday. I tell them we can only be our best today. Yes, tomorrow and their futures are important, but to be successful tomorrow we have to be successful today.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the quote from Walt Disney. First he is an icon that has surpassed the decades. Also, this quote can apply to life and school. We need to inspire children to pursue their dreams no matter what they are, and as adults we need to continue on our path to ensure that our dreams come true.
